Title: The 1st Public Health Palliative Care Scientific Symposium
Venue: Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences “MUHAS”
Date: 7th October, 2022: Time: 8.00am to 6.30pm
Purpose
Commemoration of the Worlds Hospice and Palliative Care Week 3rd to 8th October 2022, the EAPCON will host a Symposium on public health palliative care issues of concerns.
Symposium Themes: Role of technology and social media in PC, Role of PC in leveraging burden of NCDs, PC in community practice, Education and research in PC.
Goal: to establish a forum for the practices, academics, and communities to: evaluate, share and learn novel approaches of public health and palliative care in order to leverage the impact of NCDs.
Specific aims: primary prevention of NCDs, palliative care advocacy, volunteerism, and implementation science “research”.
Symposium contents: Presentations & discussions, posters, breakfast, lunch, & dinner gala.
Language: English and Swahili
Participates: members of health and non-health associations, health and social welfare institutions, community social organizations, and individuals.
