Furahini Yoram
Furahini Yoram is a graduate Radiation Therapist from the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) in 2017. He has one year of internship experience at Ocean Road Cancer Institute actively involved in the management of cancer patients. He volunteered for three months as a Radiation Safety Inspector at Tanzania Atomic Energy Commission (TAEC) before joining Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences in December 2018 as a Tutorial Assistant. He is currently doing a Master of Science (MSc) by research and Publications (Radiation therapy) in the Department of Clinical Oncology at MUHAS.
Furahini Yoram is actively involved in training and research. He has been coordinating the undergraduate programs under the Department of Clinical Oncology since 2019. He is also coordinating the Introduction course in Palliative care (Short course) at MUHAS. His current research focused on radiotherapy and palliative care since in Tanzania there is a high incidence of cancer and NCDs in general and most cancer patients are diagnosed at the late stage of the disease (Stage III and IV) and need palliative care. Therefore associating with EAPCON will provide a forum for the practices, academics, and communities to evaluate, share and learn novel approaches for primary prevention of NCDs and improve the quality of life for people with life-threatening health problems.
